LG OLED TVs Gain Google Assistant, Alexa Support

LG OLED TVs Gain Google Assistant, Alexa Support

It is the only TV technology to create colour like this.

This means that OLEDs can be thinner and more flexible than any other television technology now on the market.

Appearing alongside LG's 8K 88-inch OLED TV, the rollable 4K display measures 65 inches when fully unfurled but can roll up like a poster into a base box that would make it easy to cart the TV to another room - or house, for that matter.

Designed with convenience in mind, the telly can be rolled up to free up wall space when not in use, which also makes it far more portable than your average super screen.

The Google Assistant is expanding to TVs that don't use the Android OS, as LG has announced that its 2018 OLED line-up will support the AI assistant in certain countries.

This gives it the freedom to roll up and be stored away. The other models will use the Alpha 7 processor featured in LG's 2017 flagship TVs. We also got to see a bunch of concept robots in action which would be used for commercial purposes like delivering your morning paper in a hotel or helping you carry your groceries in a shopping mall. The screen will be shown at CES in Las Vegas in the coming week.

Apart from telling that the panel has 33 million pixels in 88-inches display, LG is not sharing any information about the latest product.

LG has yet to confirm which countries will be getting the Google Assistant support on its 2018 OLED TVs, but it's likely that the United States is in the running. For instance, you should be able to summon Assistant on your TV and ask it to switch on LG's air purifier or adjust the temperature of the AC. LG announced ThinQ as its global artificial intelligence (AI) brand that's based on three characteristics - the ability to evolve, integrate with everyday products and be open to work with others.

It will have 731 percent more colour points than its predecessor, along with high frame support and Dolby Atmos Sound.
