Logan Paul DROPPED From YouTube Series & Google Preferred Following Video Controversy

Logan Paul is officially out of business with YouTube.

About one week after the 22-year-old vlogger announced he was taking a break from the internet, his father, Greg Paul, went on social media to confirm Logan's imminent return. The platform announced "we have chose to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", referring to the set-up which allowed advertisers access to the top 5% of content creators on the site.

YouTube has been under heavy scrutiny for not acting fast enough to take Paul's video down.

Paul's channels will no longer be part of a preferred advertising program, and he will be cut from the upcoming season of the original series Foursome, the company said yesterday in a statement.

Although his dad, Greg, says that Logan would return to the platform, it doesn't seem like that's the case at all.

It took over a week for YouTube to come to this decision, which garnered a massive amount of pushback from people familiar with the situation who wondered how Paul remained on the platform, relatively scot-free. The highly edited video, which showed the body and the onlookers' reactions, was viewed by millions globally before being removed. "Suicide is not a joke, nor should it ever be a driving force for views", the company wrote. As Anna Akana put it perfectly: 'That body was a person someone loved. "You do not walk into a suicide forest with a camera and claim mental health awareness", it added.

YouTube relies on users to flag videos that violate community guidelines, and also employs machine learning to identify some offensive videos.

See more on Paul in the video below. While YouTube didn't provide any details, it said that Paul's channel violated its community guidelines when the video was posted and that it was "looking at further consequences". Although Paul later took down the video and released several apologies for his actions, many felt that YouTube's initial response was insufficient.
