Mother kills son, burns body after confirming his death

When the magistrate asked her the reason for this, she said the police had assaulted her but added that she doesn't have any complaints regarding it.

"We need a detailed examination of her relatives including the husband and daughter before reaching a conclusion".

Later during the police investigation police officers found that Jayamol had burns on her hand, and after further questioning, she accepted she killed her own son.Her husband Job V John told the media that she was mentally unstable and she did the extreme step after she was teased by the boy. The portion below the knee on one leg was splintered.

Jayamol reportedly strangled the 14-year-old with her scarf and then took his body to the backyard and burnt it with dry leaves and coconut fibre. She strangled him with her shawl and hacked him with a kitchen knife on the neck. But she told officers that the body fell apart when she burnt it and she carried all the parts to the empty plot.

It was suspected that some statements made by the teenager had angered her, leading to the murder.

On Friday, they produced her in a court where she said she committed the crime all alone and complained of police torture in custody. The police drove her up to the courtyard of the house to avoid an irate crowd. She also showed the police how she scaled the wall after dumping the body in the banana plantation.

Meanwhile, Jayamol was taken to her house for the collection of evidence.
