Motorola announces keyboard and vital monitor Moto Mods

It would seem that there will be a new Moto Mod coming to the Moto Z series of phone. Doing so gives you the chance to get a free Moto Z smartphone and Moto Mod Development Kit, and the grand prize victor will be flown out to Chicago to pitch their Moto Mod idea to Motorola's executive development team. The two new mods further expand the companies module phone system and provide new functionality for supported devices.

This mod also comes with a finger-cuff which allows you to test for even more health related metrics such as blood pressure. The first new Mod is called the Lenovo Vital Moto Mod that can literally give you information about your body. Lenovo has branded this Moto Mod as the "Lenovo Vital Moto Mod". Vital claims its readings are thoroughly accurate and typically take less than three minutes to deliver, while temperature is gathered in just two seconds. Vital is priced in at $395 and will go on sale starting April 2018.

At CES 2018, while Motorola isn't introducing any new smartphones, the company did unveil a couple of new Moto Mods.

Moto in its blog post says, "We worked with developers on the moto mods ecosystem in a variety of ways - a crowdfunding campaign with Indiegogo, our Accelerator Program and distribution of our Moto Mod Development Kits (MDK) to interested dev teams".

Lenovo also revealed the Livermorium Slider Keyboard Moto Mod, for those Moto Z users who demand QWERTY typing, tactile feedback and backlit keys.

We'll be sure to keep everyone updated regarding the release of these Moto Mods, so let us know what you think and if you'll be picking either one up. The company is now accepting applications and the last date is that of 6th February.
