No Curry? No problem in Warriors' 108-94 road win over Bucks

Kevin Durant hit a 19-foot jumper with 21.3 seconds remaining Saturday night, allowing the Golden State Warriors to hold off the Toronto Raptors 127-125 after almost blowing all of a 27-point halftime lead in Toronto.

OG Anunoby had 17 points, Serge Ibaka 14, Fred VanVleet 13 and Jonas Valanciunas 12 to go with a team-high nine rebounds for the Raptors, who played a third straight game without Kyle Lowry, out with a bruised tailbone. The Warriors are now ranked 4th in pace, averaging 102.42 possessions per game, while the previously slow-paced Raptors have played at the 9th fastest pace this season. The Raptors - down one in a game they once trailed by 27 - erupted, sprinting in the other direction for a fast break and a chance at the lead.

All those fatigue-inducing circumstances looked pretty irrelevant for much of Saturday night, as the defending champions built a 27-point lead halftime lead over the Toronto Raptors at at the Air Canada Centre.

Curry then bounded out of the team's locker room past a grouping of media gathered to listen to head coach Steve Kerr and leapt high into the air a couple of times, the first sign that the two-time NBA MVP was going to return to the lineup after sitting out a couple of games due to an ankle injury.

Half DeRozan's body was out of bounds when the ball first touched him. Toronto almost set a new franchise record for largest halftime comeback (still 25 points against Detroit in 2010), outscoring the Golden State 71-46 in the final 24 minutes.

Thompson had 20 points as Golden State finished the second on a 10-2 run for a 81-54 half-time lead.

But then referee Courtney Kirkland - ironically, working his first Warriors game since butting heads with guard Shaun Livingston in a game at Miami on December 3 - called a foul on Poeltl, who had not only blocked Curry's shot but hit him with plenty of body after doing so.

"I looked at our film defensively also, we gave up so many easy buckets in both those games, and definitely in the Golden State game", he said.

Kevin Durant scored 25 pointsfor the Warriors, who are unbeaten in 12 road games.

"I didn't", Casey said, when asked what explanation he was given for the call. But when you go in and have that situation, guys fighting their hearts out - maybe they thought we didn't deserve it with the way we played in the first half, I don't know. Casey called it "a back-breaker".

"It's frustrating", he said. The Dubs' non-Steph-and-Klay guards played a grand total of 49 minutes, and the minutes for the rest of the Warriors' roster spiked to compensate.

"It's just what it feels like, period".

One call DeRozan questioned was his being whistled for turning the ball over on a wild scramble with three seconds remaining. "Some of those calls were awful". Casspi sat Friday, too, and considering it's the third game in four days and the second night of a back-to-back for the Warriors, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see Iguodala get the breather.

"They key word is believing", Casey said.

"We've got to keep moving the ball, we've got to stay consistent moving the ball well and get defensive stops", said guard Tony Snell (11 points).
