Ronaldo Believes Neymar Took A Step Back Leaving Barcelona For PSG

Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian forward Neymar celebrates after scoring a penalty kick during the French L1 football match between Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Louis II stadium, in Monaco, on November 26, 2017.

Neymar's decision to leave Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain was a "step back" in his development, according to Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Such a move would obliterate Neymar's current world-record transfer ahead of the 2017/18 campaign - it's claimed only United and Madrid have the funds to pull off such an audacious move.

But his compatriot Ronaldo believes it was a downward move in sporting terms.

"He's at PSG now, but sports-wise, this decision he's taken is a step backwards", the 2002 World Player of the Year said in an interview with former global Zico's youtube channel.

In the other game, Monaco players hope to reach the final and reconcile their fans after they lost 4-1 against PSG in last year's final.

According to the source, the transfer of Neymar from PSG to real Madrid is estimated at 400 million euros, which is nearly two times more than the French last summer, has paid "to Barcelona".

Neymar, 25, completed a world-record £198million move from Barcelona to the French capital last summer and has scored 20 goals in his opening 22 appearances for PSG.
