Trump speaks well of his relationship with N. Korean dictator

Trump said on Thursday, during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, that he believes he has developed a positive relationship with North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un. When asked if he has spoken to the dictator, Trump said "I don't want to comment on it. I just don't want to comment".

Russian Federation and China both advocate for a freeze-for-freeze plan that would see North Korea halt its testing of ballistic missiles and nuclear devices in return for The U.S.' freezing of joint military exercises. In his New Year's address last week, Kim said he has a "nuclear button" that could fire weapons anywhere in the United States, and Trump responded that he has a much bigger and more powerful "nuclear button".

Trump said the stop-and-go nature to his strategy with North Korea is intentional and part of a broader goal. "I think you people are surprised". "And then all of the sudden somebody's my best friend". I could give you 20 examples. You give me 30. "I have relationships with people".

Trump spoke Wednesday with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, and the Blue House readout of the call said the US president promised he wouldn't attack North Korea while the two Asian nations hold talks.

The two Koreas said they agreed that Pyongyang will send a "high-level delegation, representatives of National Olympic Committee, athletes, cheering and performing art squads, a taekwondo demonstration team, and reporters" to the upcoming games - which take place in February and early March.
