Doctor Who Unveils New Poster & Logo

British actress Jodie Whittaker unveiled the show's new logo Tuesday at the BBC Worldwide showcase in Liverpool, England, in anticipation of her debut as the Thirteenth Doctor, according to BBC America.

The poster is a thing of beauty, with the Thirteenth Doctor standing on a hill, in the shadow of the sunrise about to dawn on a new age of Doctor Who. Bigger and bolder than ever, this series marks the arrival of Jodie Whittaker, the 13th Doctor - a super-smart force of nature, alongside a team of new and delightful characters.

As the Doctor, Jodie Whittaker is seen as a shadowy figure under a moonlit sky in the new snaps which show the new look logo for the first time.

Worldwide commissioned creative agency Little Hawk to create the brand-new logo, working closely with showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.

The Doctor Who logo and insignia are the quintessential signifier for the brand.

The sound for the animated logo is created by Matthew Herbert.

This streak could be a shooting star or (as suggested in the accompanying launch animation) the Tardis itself, but it also transforms the letters into something that resembles a familiar symbol - the so-called Venus symbol, which represents the female gender.

Don't worry, Whovians - all official Doctor Who merchandise featuring the new logo will be available at selected retailers from February 20th, 2018.
