Dortmund CEO suggests Stoger could stay as manager

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke recently spoke about the possibility of keeping the Belgian at the club beyond the end of the season and claimed that it would be hard to keep the striker if he continues his record of scoring in every game. The Austrian coach has since overseen four wins and three draws in the league, after eight games without a win under Bosz.

The forward went on to score his third goal in two games when Dortmund saw off Hamburg.

And Watzke admits that Dortmund got lucky that the Belgian chose to join the club as they have been trying to convince him to move to Germany for years.

Speaking on Sky Germany programme Wontorra, club chief Watzke revealed the club had hoped to include an option to make the striker's loan stay a permanent one this summer; a request that was turned down by Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

"The fact that he taken this route is a huge stroke of luck for us as he fits in quite well with the team".

"It was not possible to get a purchase option because when Roman Abramovich says "no", he means "no"".

Borussia Dortmund will make an attempt to secure Michy Batshuayi's services on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window, according to the London Evening Standard. "There is always a chance [of a permanent deal], although if he scores in every game it will be hard", the Evening Standard report.
