Google doodle celebrates opening of Winter Olympics

The 2018 Winter Olympics at Pyeongchang, South Korea are in full swing and to mark the occasion Google is celebrating it with a series of "Doodle Snow Games".

Friday's debut doodle begins with a magpie, which is a, landing on Google's logo. These doodlers have included artists like Ekua Holmes, Jennifer Hom, Sophia Foster-Dimino, Ranganath Krishnamani, and Dennis Hwang. It is reported to be the largest Winter Olympics in history with 2,925 athletes from 92 nations taking part.

Google will be posting a new doodle each day throughout the duration of the Winter Olympics 2018 which started on February 9 and will run until February 25; which means you will be in for a treat each day for the remaining 13 days. The XXIII Olympic Winter Games is being represented as "Doodle Snow Games" by the search engine, showing various animals as excited as their human equivalent about the games. The Olympics opened in a spirit of intense rapprochement on Friday as the two Koreas marched together.

But no matter who falls short or sees their dreams realized on the medal podium, "new friendships are bound to crystallize before the end of the games", Google writes.

It will release a different Winter Olympic-themed doodle each day, until the games end on February 25. "It's all downhill from here!" The polar bear has a marvellous win and his happiness is uncontrolled.
