Alec Baldwin Talks Trump Twitter Feud On 'Fallon'

The "Looming Tower" star appeared on "The Tonight Show" Monday and was asked by Jimmy Fallon about his comments on the difficulty of playing the US president on the comedy show. Conversely, Donald Trump hasn't exactly been timid about voicing his displeasure regarding Baldwin's portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live.

"Nobody is forced to watch ['SNL']", Baldwin told Fallon.

Jimmy proceeds to read Trump's recent tweets to Alec, in which the president said the actor's "dying mediocre career" was "saved by his awful impersonation, Alec responded, "Nobody is forced to watch..."

Baldwin reiterated that he do "a few" Trump SNL sketches this year, then spoke about his recent "surreal" Twitter feud with president. "Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent".

While Baldwin had expressed concern over making Trump seem "too cuddly", all indications pointed toward an extended run in the role for him. "We call them the Cabinet".

Baldwin, who also noted that portraying Trump can get "exhausting after a while", then dusted off his impersonation of Donald while he wondered aloud how Trump finds the time to send so many tweets. "I said to somebody, 'Does he have like alerts or does he sequester himself for just like a period of like Tweeting?'" And he's in his boxers, in his bathrobe. "Is he in like a session with North Korean and diplomats and they're talking about nuclear weapons and he's like, 'Hold on a moment, please, '" Baldwin, 59, said, as he went into his Trump impersonation.

"Does he like tweet throughout the day or is it like a big binge thing?" he asked.
