Andrew Norwell to sign with Jaguars

On Tuesday morning, a day before the official start to the free agency period, multiple national reports broke that Norwell struck a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ian Rapoport of has since reported that the newly inked pact is a three-year deal worth $42 million with $25 million coming in the form of guaranteed money.

Either way, missing out on Norwell is a blow to general manager Dave Gettleman and the Giants, who expected to sign the All-Pro and begin retooling their disastrous offensive line. He would immediately improve the Colts offensive line that has been underwhelming for years, resulting in numerous injuries to star quarterback Andrew Luck. They were considered the favor to sign the guard all along, and had even been prepared to spent most of their available salary cap space on him.

The Chicago Bears were recently rumored to have interest in current Cleveland Browns and former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Norwell is arguably the best free-agent on the market and also one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL.

Carolina's immediate contingency plan at left guard includes second-year player Taylor Moton and versatile center/guard Tyler Larsen.
