Tite Announces Squad for Russian Federation and Germany Friendlies

Uncapped Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose and Besiktas midfielder Anderson Talisca were the surprise inclusions in Brazil's squad to face Russian Federation and Germany in friendlies later this month, as head coach Tite announced his squad on Monday.

Of the 15 players Tite last month confirmed had already secured their places at this year's World Cup in Russian Federation, only Neymar was absent.

This will be Brazil's first meeting with Germany after their disastrous 7-1 loss in the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which also happened in the absence of Neymar.

With star attacker Neymar unavailable after foot surgery, uncapped Real Sociedad attacker Willian Jose was selected among the new faces.

Doctors have yet to set a firm date for Neymar's return.

"I want to give all the athletes opportunities right up until the end", Tite said.

These will be Brazil's last friendlies until the provisional World Cup squad is selected in May.
