To edge closer to Hero, Honda launches 160cc X-Blade motorcycle

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has begun despatches of the recently unveiled 160cc X-Blade premium commuter motorcycle.

The n X-Blade promises a brighter light throw than standard halogen lamps. Ltd has announced the price of its new motorcycle which is pegged at Rs 78,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

HMSI's Senior VP (Sales and Marketing), Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, "The aggressive and futuristic new X-Blade has been designed for millennials and Gen-Z". Bookings for X-Blade can be made all Honda dealers across the country at Rs 5,000. The company had showcased the new model at the Auto Expo held last month.

On the equipment front, the Honda X-Blade comes with a link-type gear shifter, which Honda says helps in precise and smooth shifts. This new bike will be available in Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Frozen Silver, Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Marshall-Green Metallic Color Option for the customers. Talking about the competition, the new Honda X-Blade rivals with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Hero Xtreme Sports, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer and the TVS Apache RTR 160.

It's certain that design was one of the priorities when making the Honda X-Blade. The rear wheels are shod with wide 130 mm tyre and the front wheel gets 100 mm rubber. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and Honda says that the engine has been specifically created to deliver good low and mid-range performance.

X-Blade is powered by the 162.71 cc HET engine. A 9 LED position lamp setup ensures that the X-Blade stands out of the crowd. Another notable feature is the fully-digital speedo console that even offers a Service Due reminder and a Gear Indicator. There is a sharply designed grab rail which further accentuates the aggressive look. A sporty component is introduced through the chrome tip dual outlet muffler. Mated to a five-speed gearbox, the motor churns out 13.93bhp at 8,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 6,000rpm. The latter protects X-Blade from underbody from mud accumulation.

Being an all-rounder the stylish X-Blade also focuses on comfort and safety with a long seat, seal chain and hazard switch.
