Wide receiver Danny Amendola expected to sign with Dolphins

Amendola, 32, averaged 46 receptions and 477 yards over the last five seasons with New England.

His two late touchdown catches helped the Patriots complete their comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game, and his 152 yards on eight catches in New England's Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles led all receivers.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola thrived with Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Amendola played in 15 games for the Patriots in 2017 and played a huge role in the team's postseason run.

Amendola will be joining a slightly revamped Dolphins receiving corps which also includes the recently-signed Albert Wilson as well as holdovers Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker.

The receiver had taken paycuts in each of the last three seasons, and it looks like he chose to cash-in this offseason.

Contracts are not official until 4 p.m. Wednesday, but if the deal indeed goes through, he would become the second receiver to sign with the Dolphins this offseason. They are expected to get Julian Edelman back working the slot after he missed last season due to a torn ACL.
