APC Presidential Aspirant Challenges President Buhari To A Debate

The Niger Delta Peoples Movement (NDPM) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring interest to seek a second term in office in 2019.

"I declared before leaving home because Nigerians were talking too much about whether I would run or not".

He said President Muhammadu Buhari who personally approved the extension, however, warned that no further extension of time will be approved after June 30.

The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Chinedu Ogah noted that Buhari's decision would stabilize the economy and further consolidate the fight against corruption and insecurity in the country.

"The president is a leader that has placed the nation on the path of dignity among the comity of nations and doing great in ensuring a better Nigeria amid glaring challenges".

"We needed to concentrate on them, and politics should not be a distraction". People who rushed into petrol money have now gone back to agriculture. Ardo made the call while interacting with newsmen in Abuja yesterday, saying "Nigerians should come out en-masse to support our hero to enable him wipe out corruption in the country". Special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, who disclosed this in a statement he issued yesterday said the short extension after the original March 31 date is based on the appeals of professional bodies and individual taxpayers.

"My office and other relevant people are working on this important platform, we carefully and strategically designed it and everybody will be carried along and have a role to play".

Commenting on Leah Sharibu, the schoolgirl from Dapchi still being held by insurgents, reportedly because she refused to renounce her Christian faith, the President said that efforts were being made to secure her release, adding that government had chose to keep the efforts to itself.

While receiving the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Reverend Justin Welby in London on Wednesday, President Buhari said it was necessary for him to make his intention public because many Nigerians wanted to know his intention.
