Ariana Grande still feels pain of Manchester bomb attack

A terrorist detonated an explosive device as fans were leaving her concert in the city on May 22 previous year, killing 22 innocent people and injuring more than 500.

Following the devastating terror attack, Ariana took to the stage in Manchester at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground to host her star-studded One Love benefit concert.

Ariana Grande has opened up about the Manchester Arena bombing that took place in May 2017.

"There are so many people who have suffered such loss and pain", Ariana says in her Time feature. "The processing part is going to take forever". Something so negative. It's the absolute worst of humanity.

I did my best to react the way I did.

The 24-year-old American singer advised Time journal: "The very last thing I'd ever need is for my followers to see one thing like that occur and suppose it received".

Grande goes on to point out that the reason why the tragedy weighs so heavy on her heart is because music is supposed to be so safe.

The hitmaker confessed that she was still struggling in the aftermath: "I wish there was more that I could fix".

"When you're handed a challenge, instead of sitting there and complaining about it, why not try to make something attractive?" she said of the name, adding, "When I started to take care of myself more, then came balance, and freedom and joy".

Grande - whose first new music following the assault, No Tears Left To Cry, alluded to the atrocity - spoke about her response to the assault and its impression on her music.

Ariana's manager Scooter Braun previously said that he knew at the time of asking Ariana to participate in the charity gig that it was unfair.

"I'm crying", she confesses to the magazine, "but I'm happy". "She said, "I can never sing these songs again". I can't put on these outfits.

"We put a lot on her shoulders", Braun says.

On naming her new album Sweetener: "When you're handed a challenge, instead of sitting there and complaining about it, why not try to make something attractive?"
