Beta updates to OnePlus devices finally bring group MMS

Ahead of the OnePlus 6 launch in London later today, OnePlus is releasing a new OxygenOS open beta software for OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphone users. If someone sends a group MMS chat to you, each message from each member shows up as a different thread on your phone. The OnePlus launcher now offers support for editing dynamic icons such as weather, clock and calendar. This security patch also improves OnePlus Switch feature which helps users to switch from their existing smartphone to an OnePlus device. Until now, for some odd reason, OnePlus phones didn't support Group MMS, but with the new security patch update, OnePlus is fixing the issue. The open beta update being released to these smartphones are still based on Android Oreo. On the other hand, the OnePlus Switch app has just received some user interface optimizations that should make it easier to backup and restore data. There are general bug fixes along with stability improvements as well with the update. For the OnePlus 5T, the update brings full-screen gestures. A new Toolbox card is available in the OnePlus Shelf, and there's a new Hidden Space in the app drawer.

Those features will likely roll out to the OnePlus Switch app listing on the Google Play Store once the features move from beta to stable.
