BSNL introduces Rs 118 prepaid plan to counter Jio, Airtel and Idea

The price vs data war is surely getting intense, and incumbent telecom operators are trying everything to compete with Reliance Jio. It also offers 100 SMS per day.The key highlight of the offer is that it will give 1GB data per day for a validity period of 180 days.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of a new prepaid plan to counter Reliance Jio's Rs 98 plan. This prepaid recharge plan of Jio is valid for seven days.

In comparison, Reliance Jio has a prepaid plan priced at Rs 98 which offers unlimited local and national voice calls, and 2GB 4G data, throughout the validity of 28 days. This prepaid recharge plan is bundled with complimentary subscription of Jio apps. This new plan also provides the users' access to free PRBT tune. Right after the activation of this STV, the default BSNL Signature tune will be activated on free of cost. Users can change, though they have to pay some nominal fee. This plan is available in many circles like Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Chennai and so on. The new development brings 128Kbps of data speed post the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit.

BSNL's offer also comes with limitations in select circles, and it only offers half the amount of data that Jio does at Rs 20 lesser price.

From the above, it can be argued that RJio still manages to beat this BSNL offer in terms of valuation and data pack. This plan was aimed at the audience with more calling needs than data consumption requirements. So for instance, if you're on the Rs. 199 pack that presently offers 1.4GB data per day, you'll no longer need to recharge for a separate pack once you exceed the 1.4GB quota and will receive data at a speed of 128Kbps after surpassing the daily limit. Dubbed as Rs 118 plan, it comes with a validity of 28 days. The "unlimited" calls are, however, limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.
