NC State adds basketball guard Eric Lockett, transfer Sacha Killeya-Jones

"The past 2 years at Kentucky have been an fantastic journey and I want to thank all of my coaches, teammates, and fans who made it all possible", Killeya-Jones wrote on April 9.

As was reported by ESPN's Jeff Goodman yesterday, NC State hoped to use its final available scholarship for next season on Killeya-Jones.

Sacha Killeya-Jones, a 6-10 forward who is from Chapel Hill and has played at Kentucky for two seasons, will have to sit out because of NCAA transfer rules and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. According to 247Sports' composite rankings, he was the No. 7 power forward and No. 23 player overall in the 2016 recruiting class.

Killeya-Jones has made a decision to join North Carolina State and coach Kevin Keatts.

In the tweet, Killeya-Jones said, "Extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at NC State University!" He appeared in 48 games, averaging 3.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.6 blocks. Keatts also added grad transfer Wyatt Walker from Samford last month.

Killeya-Jones should have the inside track as the starting center for NC State ahead of the 2019-20 season.
