OnePlus 6 India launch today, debuts with all-glass design

Compared to the earlier OnePlus phones there are many things new in the OnePlus 6. The gift card vouchers will be worth Rs. 1000 and they will be available in the sale lasting from Sunday, May 13 to Wednesday, May 16.

For optics, the OnePlus 6 features a 16-megapixel (RGB) primary rear sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22um pixel size, LED Flash, OIS, EIS, and PDAF, coupled with a 20-megapixel (Monochrome) secondary rear sensor offering 720p slow-mo video recording at 480fps along with 1080p at 240fps. The customers can get Rs. 1000 cashback as their Amazon Pay balance on the company's website. The SBI card holders will get a Rs 2,000 discount on the cost of the OnePlus 6 in the first week of the sale.

The OnePlus 6 India launch will be held in Mumbai. Dubbed the OnePlus 6, the phone has been the subject of countless leaks over the past several months, but perhaps the Chinese manufacturer still has a few surprises in store as it takes the stage at the Copper Box Arena in London. A week ahead of the launch, more than a million people have already expressed interest in the OnePlus 6 by registering on "Notify Me" on, making it the fastest OnePlus smartphone to surpass the one million mark. It has been confirmed by the company that the metal unibody design has been changed to a metal and glass sandwich design. Yes, the display on the OnePlus 6 has a cutout on the top. It runs the Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, in the base variant.

Internal storage: As far as storage is concerned, there are three variants. The 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant is priced at $529 (approximately Rs 35,700), the 8GB, 128GB storage variant is priced at $579 (approximately Rs 39,200) and 8GB, 256GB storage variant is priced at $629 (approximately Rs 42,600) respectively.

- The OnePlus 6 is going to be available in three finishes: Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White. The OnePlus 6 follows the current market trend of using a notch to house the front camera, earpiece, and proximity sensor in a bezel-less display - an effort to maximise the amount of visual real estate provided to the user. Founder Carl Pei says the Mirror Black colour option's glass back is "just as resilient as any of other our previous phones" thanks to the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The front camera now offers Portrait Mode as well, using a new AI algorithm to give a depth-of-field effect.
