Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists Is Officially Happening at Freeform

This week, the broadcaster have revealed they've picked up spinoff series "The Perfectionists", and dropped an official description for the show.

After former Pretty Little Liars stars Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish dropped not-so-subtle hints on Instagram back in February, the first official trailer for I.

Set in the seemingly flawless, fictional town of Beacon Heights, "Perfectionists" will follow a group of three college friends who struggle with the stress of being overachievers. Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media produce in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. Marlene King wrote the pilot and served as executive producer with Lisa Cochran-Neilan, Leslie Morgenstein, Charlie Craig, and Gina Girolamo. Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum directed the pilot.

When news of the town's first ever murder comes to the forefront, viewers discover that each Perfectionist hides "a secret, a lie, and an alibi".

They've kept details of the show under wraps but what we do know is that in addition to Ali and Mona, two of the other major characters will include Ava, played by Sofia Carson, and Caitlin, played by Sydney Park.

The decision to find a way to continue the franchise with PLL: The Perfectionists comes after the flagship became Freeform's signature hit and ranked as cable's No. 1 drama among viewers 18-34 and 12-34 during its final season.
