Super Eagles Unmoved At 47th In Latest FIFA Rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria maintained the 47th spot in the latest Coca-Cola FIFA World rankings released on Thursday.

This month's rankings were revealed on Thursday, with virtually no global action having taken place over the last four weeks.

South Africa are unmoved, and will end the month 72nd in the world and 15th in Africa, while Benin are the continent's biggest climbers.

It's a far cry from the glory days when Bafana cracked the top 20 in the rankings (at 19th) after winning the 1996 African Cup of Nations.

DR Congo, ranked third in Africa and 38th in the world, will not be in Russian Federation.

Gernot Rohr's side was ranked in the same 47th globally and sixth in Africa when the last list was released and they still maintained the same position in the latest ranking.

World Cup holders, Germany remain in first position, followed by Brazil, then Belgium, Portugal and Argentina.

The next ranking on June 7, 2018 - seven day to the commencement of the 2018 Fifa World Cup at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.

The Harambee Stars are yet to break into the top 100 places in 2018 with position 105 - which they occupied in the months of January and March still their best ever rank for the year.
