TI arrested for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and assault

According to the AJC, the Atlanta artist was arrested outside his home's gated community by the Henry County Police Department on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Rapper T.I. got arrested in Georgia after he allegedly got into an altercation with a security guard in his own gated community, but he's implying that racism was at the heart of the arrest.

Attorney Steve Sadow said in a statement that when T.I. arrived at the guardhouse at his community outside Atlanta early Wednesday, it took "some time to wake up the sleeping guard".

At some point during T.I.'s heated discussion with the guard, the rapper called a friend, who arrived and joined the argument.

"The guard continued to refuse entry without justification", Sadow said in a statement, referring to T.I.as Tip.

T.I.'s lawyer is saying the rapper was wrongfully arrested when he tried to enter his gated community outside Atlanta early Wednesday. Both then argued with the guard, and when police arrived, they arrested both men.

Still, he claims the security guard, who was African-American, "antagonized" him and had "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry.

In a video posted to The Blast, T.I. called the arrest "nonsense", and said he was "inconvenienced".

After T.I. was released, he celebrated his son Major's 10th birthday at his school. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in "hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip". He was arrested around 4.30am after he got into an argument with a security guard, according to Henry County Police.

T.I. has since been released after posting bond, the AJC reported.
