Vivo sends out media invites for May 29th event, X21 UD expected

Earlier this year, Vivo launched Vivo X21 and Vivo X21 UD, which comes with an under display fingerprint sensor. According to official listing on TENAA, the device is expected to launch in China in the upcoming days, which has a similar design as of the original Vivo X21. The Chinese mobile maker has sent an invite to launch a new handset in the country on May 29. The X21 has a bunch of variants both with and without the fingerprint sensor embed but we believe that the company will bring the one with it. Vivo is not launching the regular X21 and there's a slight possibility that it may sell the X21 UD in India as simply the X21. The Vivo X20 Plus UD has been showcased at CES 2018 after which started in China in January, but it never made it into India. The Vivo X21 is priced at CNY 2,898 (approximately Rs 29,900) for the 64GB variant and CNY 3,198 (approximately Rs 33,000) for the 128GB variant. At its Singapore launching, the smartphone has been priced at SGD 799 (approximately Rs. 39,900).

To recall that the specifications, the Vivo X21 UD is a dual-SIM smartphone which runs FunTouch OS 4.0 along with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.

The Vivo X21 sports a 6.28-inch FHD+ (2280 × 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch on the top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU and 6GB of RAM. On the front, the phone has an edge-to-edge display with an iPhone X style on the top, which houses the main earpiece and a front-facing camera.

In terms of camera capabilities, the device has a dual primary camera setup with a 12 MP RGB sensor and a 5 MP secondary depth sensor, which will enable the smartphone to achieve portrait mode photos or images with varied depth of field.

Connectivity options on the Vivo X21 include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and Global Positioning System. For those unaware, this was Vivo's second handset to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, the first one being Vivo X20 Plus UD. The phone has a battery capacity of 3200mAh which supports fast charging. Dimensions of the phone are 154.5×74.8×7.4mm and weight is 156.2 grams.
