Domino’s Pizza wants to repave your city’s potholes

Russell Weiner, president of Domino's U.S., weighed in in a Monday news release: "Have you ever hit a pothole and instantly cringed?" The company says it's already repaired roads in Bartonville, Texas; Milford, Delaware; Athens, Georgia; and Burbank, California, and the campaign will continue for three months throughout the summer. "So we're helping to pave in towns across the country to save your good pizza from these bad roads".

Jenny Fouracre, the chain's director of public relations, said Domino's had provided grants to those municipalities for road fix and would do the same for towns nominated on the website.

Domino's customers can nominate their town for pothole repairs on the Paving for Pizza website, and if selected, their city will "receive funds to help fix roads so pizzas make it home safely". It documents the work done in those communities on the Paving for Pizza web site.

More than 50 potholes have been fixed between the four towns. You can nominate your area.

Bartonville town administrator Michael Montgomery praised the company's input. The crews put up "Paving for Pizza" signs, use branded steamrollers, and even spray-paint the Domino's logo on the patched potholes. According to the inspection report, in addition to the droppings on the dough, large amounts were also found on the floor, shelves, in the bathroom, the walk-in coolers and inside empty boxes of chocolate lava cake.

A "third-party organization" will vet ZIP codes based on their popularity and the municipalities' receptiveness to the program, she said.
