Robbie Williams and Ayda Field ‘joining X Factor after signing £10m deal’

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, 39 - who have been married since 2010 and share two children - have reportedly signed a £10million deal and will become the first married couple to judge X Factor.

The 44-year-old singer and his actress wife will join Simon Cowell when the show returns to ITV later this year, it has been claimed.

According to The Mirror, Robbie and Ayda will replace departing judges Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger, with producers "over the moon" over the decision.

The upcoming 15th series of "The X Factor" is expected to begin filming later this summer, with open auditions having already taken place across the country.

Field, who previously starred in United States soap Days Of Our Lives, is now a regular panellist on daytime chat show Loose Women.

Last month she interviewed Simon and posted a picture on Instagram, captioning it: "Hope he puts me through to the next round!"

"This is the start of a new era for The X Factor". There's a format there, it's just making sure it's the right one and the right show.

"I'm looking forward to another series of Ireland's Got Talent, going back to my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world!"

Amelia Brown, Managing Director of Thames TV, said: "Louis has been a huge part of The X Factor's success since it launched and remains a good friend of the show".

Robbie - who appeared alongside Sharon Osbourne at judges houses in 2013 - is more than qualified to give the singing hopefuls some advice on the music biz.

ED! has contacted ITV and Robbie's reps for comment.
