Twitter Lashes Out at Trump's Grammar After He Slams De Niro's IQ

In probably the least surprising news ever, President Trump has responded to Robert De Niro's swipe at him from the stage of Sunday's Tony Awards.

Yesterday De Niro apologised - not for his comments but on behalf of the United States president.

The veteran actor went onstage at the Tony Awards 2018 and said: 'I'm just going to say one thing.

De Niro, one of the most respected American actors, twice used the so-called F-Bomb against Trump on Sunday, prompting loud applause from the audience of theatre actors, directors and producers at Radio City Music Hall. "It's no longer down with Trump, it's f-- Trump!" He got a standing ovation.

While Trump didn't approve of De Niro's words, the audience sure did.

The rebuttal comes after the 74-year-old Goodfellas actor expressed his feelings towards Trump while introducing a performance by his pal Bruce Springsteen at the awards show.

This was not the first time the Oscar-winning actor attacked Trump so publicly - and so colorfully.

Mr Trump said he had watched a clip of the incident and tweeted he believed De Niro "may be punch-drunk" in reference to De Niro's film roles depicting boxers. "Wake up Punchy!" Trump wrote Wednesday morning, or Tuesday afternoon ET.

"I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behavior of my president", De Niro said in Toronto on Monday for the groundbreaking of the Canadian Nobu restaurant, where he was dining with celebrity chef and business partner Nobu Matsuhisa, The Globe and Mail reported. "And I apologize to Justin Trudeau and the other people at the G7".
