Create a Beautiful New Year
We stand at the door of a new year, peering into the distance. What do we see? Are there exciting opportunities, a bright future for our families, and life filled with love and hope? Or, do we see only challenges, bleak economic forecasts, and more frustration and pain? I think many of us only see the horizon of pre-dawn, formless outlines looming in the distance which either scare us or encourage us to venture forth.
Some say that we actually create the future we see; and I agree. The future holds only possibilities - it is filled with the substance of potential. I visualize the future as a huge role of butcher paper; bright and clean. As time unfurls this endless canvas is painted by the millions of lives creating their portion of the Great Story. Some paint with expansive splendor, while others chose to draw destruction. We select the colors of our attitudes: fear, joy, bitterness or love. We can either randomly scribble out our lives or draw them with intentional beauty.
Be sure that everyone is creating something.
"When we acknowledge that all of life is sacred and that each act is an act of choice and therefore sacred, then life is a sacred dance lived consciously each moment. When we live at this level, we participate in the creation of a better world." - Dr. Scout Cloud Lee
Therefore, let us choose our rainbow colors and paint our lives with hilarious abandon. We have this new year to enjoy, make it magnificent.
