Family Fun In LGBT-Friendly Niagara Falls, Canada

By John "Jasz" Szlachetka, Feature Author   Mon, Aug 01, 2011

A few weeks ago, the author and his family vacationed in Niagara Falls. Even during his holiday, Jasz took time to share with us his positive impressions of the city and its hospitality.

Family vacation time is upon us, and my family is enjoying our holidays in beautiful Niagara Falls.  While here, I thought I would take a closer look at how LGBT couples and families are accepted here, as well as what there is to do while here.  I must say that I am quite impressed.

Niagara Falls has always been known as the honeymoon capital of the straight world.  Things now are changing, though, and many LGBT couples are also being welcomed with open arms.  Not only do many gay and lesbian couples enjoy their honeymoons here, but there are also many wedding officiants willing to marry LGBT couples in this fabulous city.  Many hotels offer LGBT honeymoon packages.  Along Lundy's Lane, the heart of the hotel district, you will find great accommodations at reasonable prices.  An average hotel room, with a queen- or king-size bed, goes at between $49.00 and $69.00.  For a few dollars more, you can have your breakfasts included.

lesbian coupleLGBT families are also very welcome, and there is no limit to the fun to be had.  Along Clifton Hill, which is the hotbed of attractions, you will find activities for every member of the family.  For those with a sweet tooth, you have two of the best candy and chocolate shops in North America: Candy Mountain and The Fudge Factory.  Right before your eyes, you can see how fudge and candy are made, and then have a little taste of their wares.
