I Am the Face of Marriage Equality: Robyn Ochs and Peg Preble
When Cupid's arrow struck...
In a very LGBT-friendly neighborhood of Boston, Mass., called Jamaica Plain, we find the beautiful couple Robyn Ochs and Peg Preble. Together for just over 15 years, these two lovely ladies in their early 50s still wonder where the time has gone.
It seems like not so long ago that their paths crossed. Robyn was born in Texas and raised in New York, while Peg was from a small suburb in Michigan, but kismet brought them both to live in Massachusetts. Even though they lived in the same city, shared many interests, such as concerts and festivals, and had many friends in common, they didn't actually meet until the early 1990s, when, coincidentally, Robyn hired Peg to do some electrical work at her home. Peg was attracted to Robyn but presumed that Robyn, who identified as bisexual, had a boyfriend. Robyn also felt an attraction towards Peg, but assumed Peg wouldn't be interested. Fate proved both their assumptions to be wrong: In 1996, at a theatre performance they both attended, Cupid's arrow struck, and the two of them connected.
