The subject of open relationships is a very touchy subject for many people.  Some consider it taboo, or an inevitable way to ruin a strong relationship.  But what happens when the one you love wants to explore the boundaries of an open relationship?  Or on the other hand, what if the one you love and the one who loves you claims to be in love with another?  Can you be in love with two people at once?  What if you don’t want an open relationship?  What if you decide to allow your lover the opportunity to explore the boundaries of an open relationship?  What if you explore the boundaries together?  Are there rules?  If so, what are they?  Can this strengthen a relationship or will it set your current relationship up for failure?  So many questions, where does one begin?

Amanda is a Family Support Worker for a social work agency based in Kansas.  She has an Associates degree in Psychology and will soon have her Bachelor's degree in that field as well. Her position as a family support worker has given her much insight into the struggles and torments LGBT people are still facing today.
