I Am the Face of Marriage Equality: Tammy and Stacey Turner
A Transition from Friendship to Love
Sometimes in life, you realize that your best friend is the person you are looking for as a partner. They seem to possess the traits you desire and seek. Likewise, you seem to possess the qualities they are looking for in a loving relationship. In the case of Stacey Nicole Turner and the love of her life, Tammy Walker Turner, that is exactly what happened. They started as best friends, and now, five years later, they are a happily married couple.
Stacey and Tammy met by chance on MySpace, and what started as a friendship blossomed into love. It was not easy at first, and there was much to overcome before they realized they were meant for each other. The first time they decided to become a couple, they went through a difficult period. Tammy had not been able to move on past her ex, and Stacey had problems dealing with a lack of trust, along with some job issues. They decided it was not the right time for them to be in a relationship together, so they separated but still continued to be close friends. For the next year, they dated other people, but in their hearts, they both knew they were destined to be together. They both came to the conclusion that they were meant for each other and jointly decided they both needed some therapy to deal with their issues. They found a counsellor, and thanks to her, they learned how to communicated with each other and to resolve some of the issues that had haunted them in the past.
