Well, as might be expected of any coming-out story, I was terrified of what my mother would think. I grew up with my mom and sister. My mom was very active in our church - what I would call "borderline religious" - as was I. A big part of our lives was participation in activities at our church. My sister attended regularly when she lived at home, and then on special occasions when she came home to visit, but she wasn't as involved as my mom and I were.
