The Equal Love Campaign is a campaign inaugurated on the fifth anniversary of the civil partnership law to advocate for the right of same-gendered couples to be married and for opposite-gendered couples to be partnered civilly under UK law. An Application will be filed in the European Court of Human Rights in early 2011 seeking these rights.

On December 21, 2010, the Equal Love Campaign news conference was held at King's College, London, followed by a seminar chaired and addressed by Lord Anthony Lester of Herne Hill QC, author of the private member’s bill that inspired the Civil Partnership Act 2004. His presentation was followed by a number of speakers, including Rev. Carla Grosch-Miller, Minister, St. Columba’s United Reformed Church, whose speech provoked this notable comment from David Equality Watters, Never Blend In publisher: "Oh, my Lord...I love Carla...she was such an incredible speaker; I was holding back tears as she spoke. It has been a long time since someone moved me in this way with the power and passion of their words." And so, we are pleased to share the full text of that speech below.
