July 2011, RAINBOW FAMILY LIFE MATTERS
Dear Mom and Dad, I Am Gay.
I helped a friend write this letter to his parents and have his permission to share it. It should be shared.
I am Gay. I am Homosexual. I did not want to lay it out so bluntly. I have wanted to tell you for years, but I could not. I am afraid of how you will react. Will you hate me? Will you keep me as your son? Will you reject me completely? Will you accept it? Accept me?
A few years ago, I realized that while my friends were checking out the girls, I was checking out the guys. It scared the hell out of me. I have never been so afraid in all my life. I did not want to be gay. I wanted to be normal, but then I realized that gay is normal, just not as common.
