Love Has No Boundaries, but for Same-Sex Couples in the U.S., There Are Merciless Borders

Larry and his husband Peter have been married now for just over two years. The problem is that they cannot live together as a married couple. One lives in Texas, while the other lives in Montreal, Canada.
The two of them met in Mexico while both were on vacation in February 2004. It was love at first sight.
From the day their relationship started, they knew there would be a few obstacles in their way. For one thing, Peter works for an airline based in Canada. The good news, though, was that this gave him the opportunity to visit Larry quite often in Texas. When Larry had the chance, he would also fly to Canada to be with his love. They did this for almost four years, and then decided that their love was strong and wanted to live their lives together. Unfortunately, Larry's father was terminally ill, and as both an only child and his father's primary caregiver, Larry decided a move to Canada was not possible. Peter, on the other hand, was quite willing to move to Texas. He was anxious to spend his life with the man he loved.
