I Am the Face of Marriage Equality: Kenny and Bo
Love at First Sight!!
Let me tell you a story of love at first sight. The year was 1996, and the place, a little Gay resort called the Habana Inn, in Oklahoma City. Picture it: A 25-year-old guy named Kenny Wright, from Fritch, Texas, leaves his home state after four years of an abusive relationship full of drugs and alcohol. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, he packs a duffel bag, jumps on a bus, and heads to Oklahoma City, where he hopes to build a new life for himself. After checking in to his room at the Habana Inn, he heads for the lounge for a few cocktails. As he looks up from his drink towards the entrance, he sees the “prettiest boy” he has ever seen. The young man's name is Bo Bass, and he is 30 years old. As Bo looks into the room, he says to himself, “Hmmm... let's go see what going on in here!” Kenny invites Bo to sit down, and they start to get better acquainted. Later that evening, they find themselves taking a little walk together, then sitting at the edge of the pool. They both go for that first kiss, their fate becomes sealed, and the love between them begins to blossom.
