HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Same Sex Couples!! October 2011
As we celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of the 10,000 Couples e-mag and community this month, we're proud to feature David Hyde Pierce and Brian Hargrove, among the 24 beautiful, ordinary and extraordinary, inspiring GALLERY couples who joined us for their October Anniversaries.
David Hyde Pierce and Brian Hargrove have been together for more than 27 years. As one of "California's 18,000," the couple was married in Los Angeles on October 24, 2008. And despite their work in the worlds of acting, writing, and production, they lived quiet and closeted lives together from the early 1980s.
Brian is a television writer, director, and producer. He is well known for his portrayal of hilarious Dr. Niles Crane on Frasier. On The View in May 2009, in a revelation triggered in part by the passage of Prop 8, David chose to tell about his happy marriage, noting,
"Brian and I always kept a low profile. We didn't hide our lives. We got married very quietly last October 24 and thought that was fine, and then suddenly the state of California said, 'No, it's not.'"
We are so pleased to have your "quiet life" story and inspiring step OUT for love, as it were. Thank you for being among the Faces of Marriage Equality that continue to inspire us!

Delena is the publisher and editor of 10,000 Couples magazine. Over the past 25 years Delena has published many articles, edited a national newsletter, and been both author and editor of several how-to books on financial management for nonprofits. Some of these experiences might even help with this latest venture. For certain, her experiences at the helm of a local nonprofit organization taught her how to get the job done with minimal resources. She is a graduate of Livingstone College in North Carolina and the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. Delena currently lives in Oak Park, IL with her spouse and son, cat and koi.
