The way in which you treat your mate is precisely the manner in which you relate to the Universe.  If you treat your mate with appreciation, respect, and unconditional love, then your message to the Universe is one of positive energy. 

If, on the other hand, you treat your mate with suspicion and constantly criticize, you will find that your life is filled with reasons to be suspicious and things to criticize.  Our relationships are the micro of the macro of the Universe, and the better you treat your mate, the better you are at bringing in the energy and life you truly desire from the Universe.
