Marriage, By Any Other Name, Is STILL Not Marriage
The final call for the saga of former Canadians Wayne Hincks and Gerardo Gallardo
Two Canadian men meet on foreign soil, fall in love, and decide to live their lives as a married couple forevermore. They have a civil union, which in all legalities is equal to a marriage, or so they think. They return to Canada, assuming that their lives together will be happy and they will be accepted and recognized as a married couple. They buy a home together, open a joint bank account, and together furnish their house with all the items needed to make a house into a home. Unfortunately, their life as a couple turns for the worse, and due to marital problems, abuse, and adultery, one of them files for divorce. Little did they know, until then, that Canada does not recognize their civil union as a marriage at all.
